Educational Programs
(C.O.R.E.) PROGRAM
The program provides computer skills training to twenty (30) youth between the ages of 7 to 14 who reside in or attend school countywide.
Youth enrolled will receive instruction in the following areas: keyboarding, Microsoft program applications, online research, web surfing, create email accounts, and send/receive emails.
Participants will also learn how to take digital photographs, scan and send them as attachments to emails or post them on LUAC’s website, or their own web page/journal. Parents/guardians are required to attend Family Night, which is held four (4) times a year, at least twice for the purpose of learning computer skills with their children as their mentors.

ALLAPATTAH CHILDREN EMPOWERMENT STRATEGIES
The proposed Allapattah Children Empowerment Strategies (A.C.E.S.), is an after school educational program, A.C.E.S. is aligned with the mission of Latinos United in Action Center (L.U.A.C.) which is to serve children and families of diverse cultural backgrounds with quality educational programs and community services for positive youth and family skills development, civic engagement and commitment to learning.
We believe that the earlier a child is introduced to technology, the more open, creative and empowered he/she will be utilizing technology for educational and economic advancement.
The program focus on 5 key activities: Academic Achievement through Tutoring and Homework assistance; Literacy/Reading, Social Skills/Conflict Resolution; Computer Literacy Online Tools;
Financial Literary – Spending and Saving.
